Georgie has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and worked in the maternity ward at King’s Daughters’ Hospital. There Georgie was honored to witness over 8,000 births. She retired from her profession in 1997 and became a caregiver to her husband (who had a work-related injury) who was in a care facility for 4.5 years. By choice, Georgie attended to her husband’s care every day from 8:30am – 11:30am, until he passed away on May 19th2016.
Georgie’s faith is what has sustained her through everything. She serves as a board of director at CFCSS (member at large). She sings in two choirs in the Cowichan Valley and believes that when it comes from the heart, it is very helpful for the journey.
